How did you start working at Romantic Depot?

Before working at Romantic Depot I used to teach ballroom dance. Unfortunately, I got into a car accident that limited my dancing abilities. I had to look for a new career, one I found just as interesting. I struck the Holy Grail of Interesting when I came across the hiring ad for Romantic Depot. What started off as a tragic moment in my life turned into the most rewarding career I could have ever wished for.

What is your favorite adult toy or erotic novelty?

This is a tough one! There are so many! I must say though my absolute favorite has to be the VIP Milena Not only because it’s named after me but also because I’m a very particular person. I’m glad to have a toy where I have the option between suction/vibration (or both) and internal/external OR ALL OF THE ABOVE! Depending on my mood

Why do you like working at Romantic Depot?

I grew up in between two generations, one where sexuality in women was frowned upon and another where women embrace their sensuality. I feel like a bridge helping people to appreciate this new way of thinking. Whether it be a single person or someone with a partner(s) I love being able to help them feel not only comfortable but confident in their sexual lifestyle. It is the absolute best feeling for me!

How did you start working at Romantic Depot?

I started working at Romantic Depot after my sister, Maygan Mejia of Queens, asked me if I can cover an associate that called out. The rest is history!

What is your favorite adult toy or erotic novelty?

My favorite adult toy or erotic novelty would have to be between the VIP Remote Control Cock Ring that turns me into a remote control vibrating boy toy for my sexual partner and the bed restraints. Oh yeaaaaaa!!! The lingerie  I can’t forget the lingerie.

Why do you like working at Romantic Depot?

I don’t like working here at all. I actually LOVE it. Not only are there opportunities for those who work hard and show endless dedication, but the people who I work with and the customers I come across daily make my day-to-day an experience I’ve never imagined.

How did you start working at Romantic Depot?

A long time ago (2001), in a galaxy far away (Rockland County), I took a break from my life in Manhattan and career in graphic design, “temporarily” took a position at Romantic Depot in West Nyack, and the rest is history.
It was our only location at the time, and here I still am years later working in one out of 9 locations… The job that I took as a goof, just to pay a few bills at the moment, turned into a rewarding career with a company that has grown over time just as much as I have. Who could’ve guessed it?

What is your favorite adult toy or erotic novelty?

Obviously, I would have to say it’s the “OUR-Gasm” because my name is right on the box and I wouldn’t have endorsed it if it wasn’t totally awesome.  And for anyone who doesn’t know what it is, check out my Youtube video.

Why do you like working at Romantic Depot?

Everyone who has ever worked retail knows that it can be hell on earth.  So, I guess it appeals to my sadistic side??? LMAO

But all jokes aside, I love nothing more than educating my customers on pleasure and sexual health. I will never get tired of hearing people tell me how comfortable I make them feel. Whenever people compliment me for being such a wonderful “salesgirl”, I laugh because I could never “sell” a product I didn’t believe in. I usually correct them by saying, “I’m not selling anything. I’m simply explaining what this product does. These items sell themselves.”

Being a sexologist means that we have to work long hours, usually giving up our nights, weekends, and holidays to always be open and available for our clientele. But when someone tells me that I’m saving their marriage or helping them feel comfortable with their sexuality, it makes it ALL worth it.

What is the craziest wildest thing a customer has asked or done at the store?

I get asked that question all the time and honestly, I never know what to say……

Romantic Depot is the original “judgement free zone”, and if I had a dollar for every time a customer said “OK,  I have a weird question….”, then I would probably be rich enough that I wouldn’t have to work.

Sometimes in order to help a customer find the right product,  we have to ask some questions that get a little personal;  and as a result,  I have had people open up to me and tell me things they have never told their best friend,  their doctor, or even their partner.

I have been working at Romantic Depot so long that I have seen it all and heard it all.  Nothing shocks me because that’s the nature of this business… I believe that you should never pass judgment, or shame anyone for their lifestyle choices, having a fetish, or wanting to experiment with something they are curious about because the very thing that makes sex so exciting is that we ALL have different turn-ons when it comes to intimacy.

Wasn’t it George Carlin who said “If sex isn’t kinky then you are doing something wrong?”  LOL
