This year Romantic Depot will be volunteering at the 2022 NYC Pride March on 6.26.22! Look for us there, as we will be helping with the march! It is a true honor to be invited to help out at such at important event! We support NYC Pride 100%, see you there!

The NYC Pride March will begin at noon on June 26th from 25th Street and 5th Avenue. Marchers will proceed south on 5th Avenue before heading west on 8th Street. After crossing over 6th Avenue, the March will continue on Christopher Street passing the Stonewall National Monument. It will then turn north on 7th Avenue, passing the New York City AIDS Memorial, before dispersing in Chelsea at 16th Street and 7th Avenue. More than 75% percent of all marching groups are non-profit organizations, and more than half of all marching groups are participating free-of-charge.

In Sunnyside Queens
Wednesday, June 29th, 7pm to 9:30pm

Pride started as a protest against unequal treatment, but it is also a celebration of  LGBTQIA+ achievements, a chance to express ourselves, an opportunity to learn about and connect with the community, and so much more. The Sunny Pride Rally & Fest aims to bring light to community issues and celebrate our unique talents and accomplishments. Gather at Lowery Plaza to hear from a few speakers on LGBTQ+ equality issues and the attacks on our communities.  Then join the march from Lowery Plaza to Bliss Plaza (46th Street) where the celebration, with performances, local craftspeople and community organizations tabling lives.  The march route between the two plazas, through the parking areas, will have a pink/purple line painted. With the recent attacks on the transgender community across the nation, including murders, violence, anti-transgender legislation, and the political and rhetorical assault on the LGBTQ+ community, it is time to stand up and say “not in Sunnyside, not in Queens”.  Come together to show support for the LGBTQ+ community and to exemplify that Sunnyside is welcoming to all people.

At the Sunny Pride Rally & Fest, stop by the Romantic Depot booth at the celebration side of the fest so you don’t miss out on the vibrant rainbow pride products, arousing accessories, ample discounts, and even better yet, free gifts!! The co-founders of Harlem Pride are Lawrence Rodriguez and Carmen Neely. The original idea for what is now called “Harlem Pride” was to organize a party that would promote the annual pride exhibit for Lawrence Rodriguez’s Casa Frela Art Gallery. The first Harlem Pride Day Celebration was held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 on the block of W. 119th Street, between Lenox and Fifth Avenues.  So Harlem Pride is always held during the last full weekend in June. That inaugural event hosted approximately twenty vendors, over 2,500 attendees, numerous artists organized by Rob De Anthony of Our Youth, and several volunteers. Since 2010, Harlem Pride has expanded to include community forums, workshops, networking events, and other community outreach activities.
